Counseling Services Clinical Supervisor
The Counseling Services Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the clinical supervision and oversight to St. Vincent Catholic Charities Counseling Services, this role implements clinical protocol consistent with current research on clinical practice, assures compliance with all regulatory/contract standards and rules as they relate to clinical treatment, and collaborates with the team on a regular basis to ensure coordination of clinical and administrative functions. Also, works to ensure that program development and administration of program, including services, meet the needs of consumers and staff. Clinical staff directly report to the Supervisor, including students and/or interns engaged in related therapeutic/client care, this individual is also responsible to ensure that all stakeholders adhere to agency policies & procedures.
-Oversee individual, family and group therapy and psycho-social rehabilitation components of service delivery and the maintenance of ethical and exemplary therapy services and client relations.
-Ensure compliance with DOC, USP, & DHS contract specific criteria and provide support for coordination of referrals.
-Maintain reporting data on therapist caseloads and analyze data for trends to improve efficiency, and maximize resources.
-Implement Clinical Program policy and contribute/lead Counseling Service’s Quality Improvement.
-Participate in strategic planning and direction of program based on trends and community needs.
-Provide individual and group supervision and performance evaluations for therapists and possibly other relevant staff as assigned.
-Conduct Utilization Review meetings monthly in compliance with contractual insurance standards.
-Ensure that licensing, continuing education, and professional standards are met.
-May conduct intakes and assessments, oversee treatment and service plan development and progress for a part-time caseload of clients; conduct groups, and/or individual therapy, timely completion of discharge and clinical summaries.
-Inform direct supervisor of developments and trends in areas of mental health, substance abuse, and trauma treatment that may have a bearing on St. Vincent Catholic Charities’ programs and stakeholders.
-May provide and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for clients in crisis.
-Provides support and consultation to EAP-referred clients.
-Work with department staff to establish appropriate office management standards ensuring compliance with agency, local, state and federal contracts and acceptable industry standards.
Master’s Degree in a Social Work, Psychology or Counseling required. Doctorate degree in Psychology, preferred. Current independent licensure in the State of Michigan. Must hold CAADC and be CCS-eligible at time of hire. Minimum five years of experience in the provision of clinical mental health direct services, and including experience providing clinical supervision and administrative management. Independent licensure in the State of Michigan, CAADC and CCS-eligibility at time of hire. Valid Michigan driver’s license, current auto insurance and good driving record required. Must provide evidence of continuing professional development/experience associated with current trends and principles in clinical practice, i.e.: trauma treatment and trauma informed care, harm reduction, and principles of strengths based substance abuse and mental health recovery.
