Sponsored by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, the “Be An Angel” Holiday Giving Campaign is one of our largest donation drives of the year. During the drive, members of the community can pickup “Be An Angel” tags at Holiday Giving Trees at the Lansing Mall and Meridian Mall, or at participating store locations in the Eastwood Towne Center.
Each gift tag contains information on a specific item to be purchased and donated, which will go to the clients of St. Vincent Catholic Charities. In addition to the gift tags, options to “Adopt a Child,” or to “Adopt a Family” are available, which allow individuals or organizations to purchase specific items that are identified on the child’s or family’s wish list. Below are additional ways to get involved with the Holiday Giving Campaign.
Adopt-A-Child & Adopt-A-Family
St. Vincent Catholic Charities annually serves over a thousand children and teenagers in the Greater Lansing Area. At Christmas, the children and teens we serve participate in the Adopt-A-Family, Adopt-A-Child/Teen program. Each child/teen completes a Holiday Giving Wish List. The Adopt-A-Family program includes the Wish Lists of a sibling group and a Wish List of a few items that benefit the entire household. These lists are given to the individual, family, business or organization adopting the child or the teen. The adopting group then purchases the gifts and delivers them to our campus. To Adopt-A-Child or to Adopt-A-Family, please contact Rhonda Abood at (517) 323-4734 Ext. 1205 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Holiday Giving Volunteering
During the month of December, we will be in need of volunteers for a variety of roles, which include: packing and sorting donated gifts at the STVCC Children’s Home; identifying “Be An Angel” gift tags for each child’s wish list; stocking of Holiday Giving Trees with gift tags at the Meridian Mall, Lansing Mall, and Eastwood Towne center; and delivering donations from the malls to STVCC.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Rhonda Abood at (517) 323-4734 Ext. 1205 or at email@example.com.
Special Needs Collection
Each year St. Vincent Catholic Charities is in need of household items to support the children and families we serve. By signing on to do a special collection, you can collect much needed items and drop off to our agency. Items needed at this time include:
- Gift cards for recreational activities and outings (Ex: Movie and bowling passes, restaurant gift cards in $5 to $20 increments, gift cards to area stores such as Meijer, Walmart and Target).
- Art supplies
- Basic household items (Ex: Pots and pans, silverware, dishes, pillows, twin and full size blankets and sheets).
- Cleaning supplies
- Personal hygiene products (Full-size products are preferred. Examples of items include shampoo, toothpaste, soap, deodorant).
Specific lists will be provided based on your area of interest. If you are interested in a special needs collection, please contact Outreach and Events Coordinator Rhonda Abood at (517) 323-4734 Ext. 1205 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

When dropping off your gifts, please remember the following:
- Gifts should be unwrapped.
- Attach the Angel Gift Tag securely to the gift.
- Please do not remove price tag sticker on the gifts (we do not need the receipt).
When you enter our property, please follow the driveway in the direction of the Children’s Home Gymnasium, which is the building on the left (look for directional signs on the property). Drive to the far west end of the Children’s Home and look for the Gymnasium double doors and ring the doorbell. Because it’s considered a loading zone, we hope that you understand that we must quickly as possible unload your vehicle so we can accommodate others who may be behind you. Volunteers and staff will be available to receive donations within the established dates and times listed above in bold. Other drop off times can be arranged upon request.
