Tammy Render-Morris

Tammy, a licensed professional counselor with a Christian counseling designation, leads STVCC’s new Faith Based Counseling Service. Having started in July, Tammy provides healing for those hurting and struggling. She brings in the love, mercy, and grace of Jesus Christ from a Catholic perspective, using scripture, prayer, and tenets of the Catholic faith in her therapy sessions. In addition to meeting clients, Tammy has been busy actively building relationships with many of the Catholic parishes and priests in our community.

“It is such a blessing to be able to serve God and His people in this position. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to offering hope and healing to my Catholic brothers and sisters,” said Tammy.

Tammy brings to STVCC a wealth of experience and knowledge to those seeking counseling services. She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science in recreational therapy psychology and later earned her master of science in licensed professional counseling from Liberty University. It was throughout her program at Liberty, a Christian liberal arts college, that she learned secular and Christian perspectives.

Before coming to STVCC, Tammy spent her time as a substance use disorder counselor with Victory Clinical Services in Lansing, where she provided health services to those suffering from substance use disorders. In addition, Tammy has been a volunteer for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for the past five years where she offers support to parents of missing and/or trafficked children.
