Sustained Giving – Sustained Dreams

At St. Vincent Catholic Charities (STVCC), we serve the most vulnerable in our community by providing help that creates hope.  So much of our work is related to programs and services for these vulnerable members of our community.  In the Development Office we keep our ears open for the stories that provide the proof of need or the results of your generosity.

As a current donor to STVCC you have been moved to give, and know the impact of your gift on the children and families we serve.  As a savvy donor, you find ways to make your gift go further.  This is where sustained giving comes in.  This type of giving supports the dreams of those we serve and provides us with the confidence to plan for and do the works of great need in our community.

These works of great need often require special skills such as case management, counseling, or professional services.  Make no mistake; the needs in the community will almost always exceed our ability to meet those needs, both in staff time and resources.  But with sustaining gifts, large or small, we have a better handle on the resources we will have to hire and train the right people to help those with the greatest needs.

How can you become a sustained giver?  Consider monthly giving.  Maybe you have been giving $100 each year.  Just think how a child could be helped with $15 a month!  At STVCC, this can give a child milk for slightly more than 2 weeks.  It can provide a set of underwear for children who arrive at the Home with nothing.

Another way to be a savvy donor is to join forces with others who have pledged their support to STVCC through the STVCC Guardian Society.  The Guardian Society is made up of dedicated and compassionate individuals and families who strongly believe in our mission of service to our community.  By making a five year pledge commitment to STVCC, Guardian Society Members extend the impact of their giving and enable STVCC to forecast available resources five years into the future.
