Willow Street Closure

Street Closure – The City of Lansing will be rehabilitating Willow Street, from west of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (Linwood St.) to west of Sunset Ave. (city limit) beginning July 5. The project will take 4 – 5 weeks to complete.
The project consists of milling the top 3 1/2 inches of asphalt from the roadway and place asphalt. The sidewalk ramps at intersections will also be upgraded to comply with ADA regulations. The railroad crossing west of Cleo Street will be replaced in conjunction with this project.
Street Closure Traffic Operations
Phase 1: The railroad crossing will be replaced at the beginning of the project. At that time, Willow Street will be closed to all traffic at the railroad track. Local traffic will need to come in from each side of the track. Through traffic will be detoured to Oakland Rd. and Saginaw St. The closure is expected to last approximately a week.
Phase 2: Westbound traffic ONLY will be maintained for the remainder of the project. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Saginaw Street.
Access will be maintained to residences and businesses within the project area, with possible short delays. Please plan additional travel time for all STVCC service appointments.
