COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND MARKETING

COMMUNITY RELATIONS INTERN
STVCC seeks an energetic, creative and personable intern to support the Development Team and Associate Director of Community Engagement. The Community Engagement intern is a volunteer position that gives an opportunity to develop real world skills and contacts. The Community Engagement intern will provide support to the development team in the planning and execution of programs and events designed to increase community awareness and will be responsible for generating social media content, including photos, videos and posts.

CHILD WELFARE 

ADOPTION CASE MANAGER
Performs all required adoption casework services for children in the foster care programs of this agency, for whom adoption is a permanency planning goal.  In addition, the caseworker will complete family assessments for those individuals wishing to adopt infants and special needs children.  As part of the family assessments, the caseworker will provide information to prospective adoptive applicants through orientation meets.  Work collaboratively with pregnancy counselors, as appropriate, to complete direct placement adoptions.  Post-adoption services will include support, guidance, search, and reunion activities, and other services as requested by the family.

CHILD WELFARE SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Maintain a positive work environment through communication and collaboration with the Child Welfare Team.  Guarantee all clerical needs are met in Child Welfare.  Ensure accurate production and distribution of information generated by program staff.  Set up, maintain, and close program files.  Order and maintain office supplies and other program needs.  Maintain tracking mechanisms for various program requirements and establish new tracking mechanisms as needed.  Oversee the use of the Apricot database for the program and pull program statistics from Apricot as needed.  Assist the Child Welfare Team with other tasks as needed and approved by the Director.

FOSTER CARE CASE MANAGER
Provides and implements a workable plan to increase the level of functioning of the foster child and the birth family where applicable.  Works cooperatively with foster families, birth family, foster child, referral agency, school personnel, and other individuals involved in the treatment of the foster child.  Provides a consultative and supportive role for foster families in meeting the needs of the foster child.  Works closely with birth parents, when applicable, to overcome the obstacles that brought the child into foster care and return the child home.  When reunification is not possible, case manager works with Adoption Case Manager to develop a permanency plan for the child.

FOSTER HOME LICENSING SPECIALIST
Recruits and licenses families for the purpose of providing foster homes to care for foster children.  Provides a consultative and supportive role for the foster families in meeting the needs of foster children.  Promotes skill and knowledge of foster parent development by providing ongoing training and workshops.

IMMIGRATION LAW

EXTERN/INTERNSHIP (LAW STUDENTS ONLY)
Externs/Interns will be responsible for duties which may include the following: complete research and writing assignments in a timely manner, assist attorneys in every stage of case preparation, and meet with clients. Externs/Interns may shadow attorneys to observe hearings as schedules allow. Externs/Interns may be called upon to initiate, develop, or continue special projects for the Clinic.

REFUGEE SERVICES

COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND MARKETING
The Refugee Services Community Relations & Marketing interns provide a wide range of support based on the volunteer’s interest and the current needs of the agency.  Interns will work with the Associate Director of Community Relations & Marketing and the Director of Refugee Services to increase awareness and acceptance of refugees in the community.  Story writing, media relations, and digital content development are examples of intern responsibilities.

CASE MANAGER 
Refugee Services interns work directly with Case Managers to assist with refugee arrivals and current clients.  This can be a very rewarding experience that exposes the intern to various cultures and languages.  Up to six positions are available each semester (fall, spring, and summer).  All majors are welcome.
