We Specialize In The Following:
Faith-Based Counseling
Faith-based counseling brings in the love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ from a Catholic perspective with the use of scripture, prayer and tenets of the Catholic faith to offer healing, peace and hope to all that are hurting and struggling.
This approach contains principles of service delivery, theoretical concepts, techniques and interventions based on Catholic teachings that promote the development of psychological theory and mental health practice which encompasses a full understanding of the human being and society.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents, ages 3-18 years old. TF-CBT is designed to help resolve emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences. Treatment often lasts between 12- 25 sessions, and it often includes participation from parents and caregivers.
Child / Adolescent Psychiatric Consultation
Counseling Services can perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation of the psychological, biological, medical and social causes of emotional distress for children and adolescents, ages 5-26 years old. Information gathered, often including any necessary medical records and laboratory tests, will lead to the formulation of a psychiatric recommendation(s). Consultation will result in treatment and, when appropriate, medication recommendations and follow up recommendations used to help guide future treatment.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy that has been in use for over 20 years that it is a very effective treatment for people who have endured all kinds of trauma both big and small. When we experience trauma, our brains do not always process the trauma correctly and we continue to relive the traumatic event. EMDR helps the brain to reprocess the event so that the brain can repair itself much like repairing a physical wound on your arm.
