We’re expecting 600 arrivals to Lansing and could use your help making sure their new homes are stocked with essentials. Donations are based upon the core and basic needs of refugee families and other clients of ours, and may vary depending on the season and our current needs.
Most clean furniture items (those that come from smoke-free homes, and free of stains or tears) can be scheduled for pick-up in Lansing. All smaller household items may be dropped off (weekdays 8:30am to 4:00pm) at St. Vincent Catholic Charities (follow the donation drop-off signs to our garage).
All donations will be inspected prior to being accepted. We reserve the right to decline any donations if they do not meet specifications or needs, including items that are dirty, covered in pet hair or in poor condition. All donations are tax-deductible.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept used beds including frames, mattresses and box springs; sleeper sofas, recliner sofas, futons, waterbeds, desks, bicycles, or used toys; large appliances, including stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers, and dryers; some small household appliances including food processors, toaster ovens, bread machines, juicers and crock pots; computers; used books; strollers and used child car seats. We do not accept general clothing items.
