2017 “Be An Angel” Holiday Giving Campaign Launches
St. Vincent Catholic Charities (STVCC) today announced the launch of its annual “Be An Angel” Holiday Giving Campaign at the Lansing Mall, Meridian Mall and participating locations at the Eastwood Towne Center.
Presented by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the “Be An Angel” Holiday Giving Campaign collects gifts for hundreds of children, teenagers and parents in the Greater Lansing area served by STVCC. At each mall are “Be An Angel” giving trees with angel gift tags attached, containing information on specific items to be purchased and donated to the children and families of STVCC.
“For over 20 years we have seen a large outpouring of support from the community for the ‘Be An Angel’ Holiday Giving Campaign,” said Andrea Seyka, CEO of St. Vincent Catholic Charities. “Witnessing our neighbors, friends and colleagues come together to ensure that families and children receive a Christmas defines the true meaning of this season.”
A soft deadline of December 14 exists for donations to ensure that all children and families served by STVCC will receive their gifts by Christmas. Giving trees will remain in the malls through Christmas Eve to collect donations. Gifts can be returned to the collection boxes located near each giving tree, or at the STVCC Children’s Home gymnasium between Dec. 6 and Dec. 21 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The Children’s Home will not be open to receive gifts during the weekend.
When returning gifts, please ensure they are unwrapped with the angel tag attached.
Additional giving opportunities include volunteering to sort and pack gifts, or organizing a special needs collection that support the children and families the agency serves.
FOX 47 serves as the media sponsor of the campaign, a relationship that dates back to the beginning of the “Be An Angel” Holiday Giving Campaign.
